The road to Tawang climbs through Dirang and over Sela Pass before settling onto a ridge crowned by Tawang Monastery. Expect cold lakes, prayer flags, war memorials and some of the most dramatic driving in the Himalaya — with an optional excursion to Bum La Pass.
